The bee collects honey from flowers in such a way as to do the least damage or destruction to them, and leaves them whole, undamaged and fresh, just as they were found. It was Saint Francis who spoke these words perhaps realizing we should live our lives in harmony as do the flower and bee.
Having a fascination with this flower bee harmony has inspired me to do a series of floral paintings. Ever present in my florals is the bee coming, going or interacting with a partner flower in some way. The most recent paintings in the series are of pear blossoms and bees near my home in Umbria, Italy.
I hope you have enjoyed viewing these paintings and perhaps will be inspired to take a walk and see this simple but marvelous phenomenon live.

Gorgeous paintings, they have a light and delicate feeling to them, I can tell that you really love what you paint, that is so important in my opinion. I truly adore how you showed just a slight top edge of the bee in the first painting. Bravo!

I love watching your work grow and bloom! You have come a long way and I’m so proud of you. this painting in particular is special to me because I grew up in MA where dogwoods were everywhere. I’ve been in FL a long time and no dogwoods. 🙂 And the BEE!!!!
